Safe, Tidy Tree Trimming for Healthier Trees and Gardens

Εύρος τιμής:80 € – 120 €

Most garden trees in Cyprus need trimming every year or two: olives get dense in the middle, citrus grows too tall to pick, pines and eucalyptus throw branches over roofs, and palms hold onto dead fronds. Post photos of each tree, its rough height and what's near it, and a local tree worker can quote for the job.

  • Crown thinning and lifting
  • Dead and broken branch removal
  • Olive, citrus and fruit tree pruning
  • Dead palm frond removal
  • Branches cut back from roofs
  • Green waste collection on request

Σχετικά με την υπηρεσία

Trimming isn't just about making a tree smaller. Done properly, it lets light and air into the canopy, removes wood that's dead or likely to snap, and keeps branches away from roofs, walls, solar heaters and cables. Done badly, it leaves a tree full of stumps that sprout weak shoots everywhere.

Tree by tree

  • Olives: opened up in the centre so sun reaches the fruiting wood. Usually done after the harvest, late winter into early spring.
  • Citrus: lighter pruning to remove crossing branches, suckers from the base and growth that's out of reach. Best after fruiting.
  • Pines: lower branches lifted, deadwood removed, and branches cut back from roofs where needles block gutters and rest on tiles.
  • Palms: dead and hanging fronds removed, along with old fruit stalks. Ask for the green fronds to be left on; stripping them weakens the palm.
  • Ficus and other shade trees: crown thinning to cut wind resistance, and roots checked if they're near walls or pipes.

On the day

The tree worker looks at the tree first, decides which branches go and where the cuts should be, and plans where they'll land. Bigger limbs are cut in sections and lowered rather than dropped, especially over walls, pools or roofs. Cuts are made just outside the branch collar so the wound closes over. Tall trees may need climbing gear or a cherry picker, which affects the price and whether a vehicle can get in.

When to call sooner

Before the winter storms is a good time to check for split or hanging branches over the house, the car or a footpath. A branch touching overhead power lines isn't a DIY job or a normal trimming job; tell the pro about it in your post, as the electricity authority may need to be involved. Also say if you want the wood kept for the fire, chipped or taken away.

Pruning With a Purpose

Cuts are made at the right points to keep the tree’s natural shape, improve light and airflow, and encourage strong regrowth rather than weak shoots.

Leave Heights to Professionals

Working with saws on ladders near walls, roofs and cables is risky; hiring a professional with proper equipment keeps your household out of harm’s way.

Seasonal Know-How

Local tree workers know when olives, citrus, pines and palms respond best to pruning in the Cyprus climate, and when to avoid summer cutting.

Clean-Up Agreed Upfront

Each offer can state whether branches are chipped, bagged or taken away, so there are no surprises about the pile left in your garden.

Συχνές ερωτήσεις

When is the best time to trim trees in Cyprus?
Most deciduous and fruit trees are best pruned in late winter while dormant. Olives are usually pruned after the harvest, in late winter or early spring, and citrus after fruiting. Heavy pruning in the height of summer is generally avoided because exposed bark can scorch. Dead or dangerous branches should be removed whenever you notice them.
Will the cuttings and branches be taken away?
That depends on the offer you accept. Some professionals include collecting and removing green waste, others chip it on site or leave neatly stacked wood for you to keep. Mention your preference when you post the job, and check what each offer includes before accepting so you can compare like for like.
Can I trim trees that are near power lines myself?
No. Branches near overhead cables carry a serious risk of electrocution and should only be handled by a suitably qualified professional. In some cases the electricity network operator needs to be contacted first. Point out any nearby cables in your job post and photos so professionals can plan the work safely.
How much will tree trimming cost?
Price depends on how many trees need work, their height and species, how overgrown they are, ease of access, closeness to buildings or cables, and whether waste removal is included. A single small citrus tree is a very different job from several tall pines. Post photos on FixNow to receive quotes from local professionals.
Will heavy trimming harm my tree?
Removing too much at once can stress a tree, encourage weak water shoots or expose bark to sunburn. A careful professional avoids taking off more of the canopy than the tree can cope with in one go, and may suggest spreading a big reduction over two seasons. Ask about their approach in the chat before accepting.
